As a shop that specializes in Ford Broncos and Trucks, we typically don’t stray from taking on projects outside of that. However, we were lucky to find this Shelby Cobra 289 FIA replica for sale on a recent trip to Florida and decided we needed to change the pace at the shop.
The historic Shelby Cobra has a notoriety that is unique in the automotive world. Powered by a mean 306ci small block Ford backed by a 4-speed manual transmission this car is definitely fun (and a handful!) to drive.
This car takes inspiration from many of the Cobra FIAs raced in the 60s by legendary drivers such as Carroll Shelby, Dan Gurney and Ken Miles to name a few.
When we purchased the car it was already in good shape but we wanted to give it more of a race car vibe so we added “Sebring” style race decals and a new set of Goodyear SportsCar Special Tires on Compomotive Knockoff Style Wheels. We also cleaned up the engine bay to give it that ready for the race track look.
