Description

This perfect patina ’72 Ford F-250 Ranger 4×4 “Highboy” was sold new at Bud Meadows Ford in Portland, Oregon on February 13th 1972 and lived in Oregon until we acquired it in June of 2022. Following our acquisition this truck was fully disassembled refinished inside and underneath, driveline and suspension rebuilt all while retaining the exterior patina.

The exterior of the truck wears mostly original Royal Maroon over Wimbledon White paint with the right amount of patina and touch ups from use over the years. According to the Marti report is it 1 of 144 with these paint codes and 1 of 1 with these paint and trim codes. All the moldings and trim show very well. We fit a new front bumper, and lights. The windshield has been replaced. Refinished factory 16” steel wheels wear new 315/75R16 Toyo Open Country M/T tires. The factory hubcaps will also be included with the truck.

The interior was fully repainted from door jambs inward in its factory Wimbledon white. The reupholstered maroon and red vinyl bench seat is the star of the show, it’s flanked by woodgrain trimmed door panels and dash trim along with a new dash pad and steering wheel. New black carpet and sound deadening cover the floor and firewall respectively.

A rebuilt 390 CI V8 Engine has been fit in place of the original 360. The engine has been fit with a mild Comp Cam, Holley 4 Barrel Carburetor, Edelbrock intake, long tube headers and dual exhaust. Power steering has been added using a ’79 F-250 steering gear. The engine is backed by a 4 speed transmission that has been resealed and divorced transfer case that has been rebuilt and refinished.

The body and pickup box were removed from the chassis, prepped and refinished in a Red Oxide Primer colored bed liner coating. The chassis itself has been stripped and refinished in Eastwood chassis paint. New shocks, 4 inch lift springs, brakes, joints, bushings ect have been fit as needed.

This Highboy checks all the boxes of the perfect vintage truck! It is a blast to drive and turns headed everywhere it goes.
