As the leader in restoring 2nd Generation Ford Broncos we were really excited for this opportunity to restore this 1979 Ford Bronco XLT with a 7.3L Ford Godzilla crate engine. The perfect motor to accompany this iconic Raven Black and Metallic Silver over black, making it one of our favorite customer builds to date.
In the Spring of 2022, a customer reached out telling us they wanted to restore a ‘79 Bronco with the look and feel of an original Bronco but with all the modern amenities so he could use it as his daily driver.
We first had to find him the perfect Bronco core to start the project, when we stumbled upon this Bronco out in Colorado we knew this was the Bronco to lay the groundwork of making this into an awesome build our customer would love.
The exterior has been refinished in its original Raven Black and Silver Metallic. All the trim and bright work have been polished to perfect condition. A set of US Indy Mag Wheels were fitted with new 33×12.5 BfG K02 tires to complete the look.
The interior of the Bronco came with original highback captains chairs that were redone in black with Free Wheeling Co Indian Rug style seat covers. We also added a new carpet, dash pad, a Retrosound radio, Dakota Digital gauges and Kincer Chassis Push Button transfer case controller. To make this the ultimate driver’s Bronco air conditioning and modern brakes were also added.
Making 450hp and 500 ft/lbs of torque this Bronco is now comfortable at highway speeds or cruising down Main Street. Since we sold the Bronco in August of 2022, our customer has put 1000+ miles on it.
